July-2020 Line start time
From Transnow breed, we thought orange albino cross with black Moscow should give me red or orange color individuals, but that really did not happen until we introduced a red Moscow female with the father of all mutations (the male shows left with all displayed color genes).
We first got some black body red tail and dorsal fin males, we like the solid dark blue body, but we would like to have orange and white dorsal fin. So we continue one male with a female Transnow, and we got almost perfect individual male. metal blue/orange body with orange tail and white dorsal fin. the black spots on the tail is by accident , we do have some individuals without black spots. but we do not mind to keep black spots , looks like some leopard genes.
Dec-2021 Breeding tank introduction
Among all our aquascaped breeding tanks, this one is the best with beautiful view, easy maintain and functional usages. Rocks in the center, with front mini hair grass background long hair grass, the entire tank is green but with large open space for breeding group to swim. the best part is the plant we grow on the right side of tank, it grows over the top of the rock to the left, covers good enough surface so the rock will not grow algae and provide a lot of space for fries. Trim only required once a month.
May-2022 Line establishing time – Female selection
Female is mystery on this breed, we will expect to have some yellow to orange color shows on female’s tail, instead we got half black and half brown body with fins in very light blue color , and further more, we found there were individual mutations in female with black spots on a blue/white tail.
Females among this line , Bluelazuli and SkySilk are difficult to make differentiation, We try to keep BlueLazuli to have all brown body with black fins specially on the tail, and SkySilk female with blue fins and tail. we have not finalize the selection of female for this line, we try to see if we can keep heading the female with black spots.
Feb-2023 – Raising tank introduction
Male raising tank is the only one tank with ADA substrates. and it was blooming with all type of plants we trimmed from breeding tank and rooted in. we did not have time to trim this tank, so bottom part of plants start dying due to heavy cover on emergent plants with no lights can get through.
with 70% water change very month and >100 fishes in the tank on twice a day feeding, no Co2 , only sponge filter and medium light condition on for 8 hours a day. plants seems still doing good.
Female tank has low light Anubias on top of lava rocks. those low light plants seems doing not very well with heavy water change and some large particles from waste and food floating around the water, land and cover their leafs, specially, we feed live hatched brine shrimp every day, some shells always accumulate in the water no matter how careful we collect the brine shrimp from hatching device.
